Alaska's Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve. Lying at the northern most end of the Alexander Archipelago, Glacier Bay is one of the worlds natural wonders with a system of glacial fjords stretching sixty miles into the Fairweather mountain range.

Humpback whales, Steller sea lions, harbor seals, Orca whales and sea otter are common marine mammal sightings around the Bay. A staggering variety of bird life summers on the Bay's isolated islands. Brown and black bears, mountain goats, moose and occasionally wolves are sighted along the shores. Southeast Alaska's most dramatic landscape should not be missed.

• Your Captains Mike Nigro and Mike Braal are both Alaska veterans and have operated charters in southeast for many years.
• Gustavus Marine Charters is one of a very limited number of charter concessions that is authorized by the National Park Service to operate within the Park. Entry permits for Glacier Bay are extremely limited so try to book early, but don't hesitate to call 'last minute" as cancellations sometimes occur.
• Our forty-two foot Californian accommodates up to six guest for our Glacier Bay tours. There are two full size double beds in a large aft cabin and two single berths in a smaller forward cabin. Both have their own head and shower. A spacious main cabin and open fly bridge make viewing and photography effortless.
• The icy waters of Glacier Bay determine our menu. Salmon, halibut, and Dungeness crab are a few of our regular gourmet dishes. Special diets can easily be accommodated with adequate notice.

2003 Guided Yacht Charters

Trips into Glacier Bay aboard the M/V Kahsteen depart from Park headquarters at Bartlett Cove. Trips include Captain & crew, gourmet meals, two double sea kayaks, and a skiff for shore excursions. Heavy duty raingear is available on board. Rubber boots are good to have along for shore excursions and soft sole shoes (athletic shoes) are best (onboard) for on the boat.

Two Day Tour East Arm Glacier Bay - $800 Per Person.

This tour into Muir Inlet passes the Marble Island sea bird rookery and then on to McBride Glacier for a short hike to overlook the active ice face. The night is spent at a secluded cove with time for kayaking or relaxing aboard and watching for wildlife. The return trip stops at another cove to check for bears and then continues on to a sea lion haul out before returning to Bartlett Cove.

Three Day Tour West Arm Glacier Bay $1200 Per Person.

This tour heads up the west side of Glacier Bay past another sea bird colony at Lone Island and then on to our anchorage at Reid Inlet. A walk ashore will take you to the glacier's terminus. The next day it is off to Johns Hopkins or Tarr Inlet for some spectacular glacier viewing. We then head down the Bay to another secluded cover for the night. The third day is spent searching for bears and visiting another bird colony and the sea lion haul out at the Marble Islands and then back to Bartlett Cove.

Four Day Glacier Bay Tour $1600 Per Person.

This tour covers both trips just described plus allows more time for hiking, kayaking, or whale watching.

Five Day Glacier Bay Plus $2000 Per Person.

This tour includes the Glacier Bay trip as described plus a day whale watching or fishing in Icy Strait, or an overnight in Dundas Bay, known for its wilderness setting and bear populations.
